Social customs, rituals, or even malpractices sometimes take on such an ugly form that one has to criticize them to find a solution. For example, there is a question: a father wants to marry off his other child, a daughter, against her will to a semi-educated young man to secure his son’s marriage. Education is important in every society. This means that in matters of relationships, every educated young person can think independently about their relationships. It is not natural that similar qualifications have become the criterion; and in this, social bondage becomes secondary. When a marriage happens between two people, relationships are formed and developed with great enthusiasm—because both sides agree to the daughter or son in each other’s family. This is a divine arrangement. When a conflict arises in these relationships, these very relationships break, scatter, and as a result, the lives of two individuals are ruined. But in today’s developed era, when the same thing comes up again, it makes the mind restless. Many families and many individuals are suffering in relationships. This novella, ‘Satu’, is about the inner feelings of these individuals.
